Why Save Water ?
Water is a precious natural resource. Most people
could not survive without fresh water for more than seven days.
Although 80% of the worlds surface is covered in water only 1%
of this total is fresh water.
Demand for fresh water is increasing
and is expected to do so for the foreseeable future. It is predicted
that by 2025 two-thirds of the world’s population will face water
shortages.
Reducing water wastage and promoting greater
water efficiency will help safeguard supplies and will have wider
positive environmental impacts in terms of reducing the amount
of energy needed to treat and supply water.
There are clear business arguments for treating
water management with the same priority as the management of other
energy resources, such as gas and electricity. Undetected water
leaks and inefficient use of water resources are common place.
Use of a reliable leak warning system coupled with an effective
water consumption management programme can save organisations
considerable sums of money.
